Sweet Dreams Foot Cream
Oh wonderful feet! It feels so good to massage beautiful oils and creams into our feet, especially before bedtime. This Sweet Dreams Foot Cream is sure to help you have a better nights sleep.
This is a very simple cream to make, but it does involve two steps. The first step is to mix up a blend of essential oils that aid in relaxation and sleep and then add them to the cream in the second step. I’ve included the recipe for the blend below, and you are also welcome to come up with your own essential oil blends.
Sweet Dreams Essential Oil Blend
Ingredients:
20 drops cinnamon bark essential oil – balances blood sugar levels which in turn helps the body to rest.
40 drops ginger essential oil – warming quality serves as a sleep aid and stimulates feelings of ease.
40 drops peppermint essential oil – anti-inflammatory attributes help clear sinuses and improve breathing.
40 drops lemon essential oil – citrus oils are adaptogens (natural substances that help your body adapt to stress.)
40 drops grapefruit essential oil – helps lower blood pressure, balances estrogen levels.
Directions:
Add all essential oils to a small bowl or jar, and stir with a wooden stir stick or other non-metal utensil.
Note: This recipe yields enough oil mixture to make (2) 4 ounce jars of Sleep Cream. The recipe below for the cream makes (4) 4 ounce jars. So if you want enough oil blend to go into all 4 jars, you’ll need to double the recipe above.
How To Make Your Own Sweet Dreams Foot Cream
Ingredients:
1 cup organic extra virgin olive oil or 1/2 cup olive oil & 1/2 cup jojoba oil
4 Tbsp beeswax pastilles
1/2 tsp vitamin E oil (optional)
Melt all oils together until blended. The beeswax takes some time, so using a low temp with a bit longer time is best. Once mixture is melted, let cool slightly (not too long or it will begin to harden), then add essential oils and stir. Pour into jars and cool. It will set once cooled. Store in a cool dark area for best results (like your bedroom nightstand drawer).
Rub the cream onto your feet just before going to bed for a better nights sleep. Zzzzzzz
